Pros and Cons of ASUS X550ZA Laptop

The Pros – ASUS X550ZA

  • X550ZA’s exteriors are a textured plastic that looks and feels pretty good. It comes with a rigid lid.
  • The interiors also come with a textured palm rest. This makes the touch pad easy to use.
  • The keyboard is comfortable to type on with a good amount of key travel.
  • Also, the touch pad is large and its texture is smooth. Scrolling and gestures or tracking perform well above user expectations.
  • The overall build quality is good for an affordable laptop.
  • For the price range, the laptop offers quality performance.
  • The number of CPUs is amazing for the price. It comes with 4 processors and 6 GPUs.
  • The side to side viewing angles are pretty decent when compared to other laptops of the same range.
  • One of the good features is the speakers’ position. The speakers face up and are adequate for multimedia usage. However, for a better gaming experience one can opt for headsets or external speakers.
  • The AMD A10-7400P 2.5 GHz processor is very capable. Games and office applications run smoothly.

The Cons – ASUS X550ZA

  • A minor problem is the medium keyboard flexibility.
  • The color accuracy is about average.
  • The screen resolution, 1366*768 pixels isn’t great. Therefore, the texts on the screen may be a little blurry at times.
  • Although the side viewing angles are good, the front viewing angle is poor in comparison. The panel needs to be moved to get the best picture.
  • Additionally, since it has a glossy display, users will need to move the screen away from bright lights and windows during the day in order to avoid reflections.
  • One of the biggest limitations of the laptop is its battery performance. It runs for 3 to 4 hours at a maximum on full charge even when just normal productivity programs like web browsing are used.
  • On load, the fan levels rise up to 55 to 57 decibels. However, these are on par with other gaming laptops.
  • The ac power cord and the bottom of the laptop get very hot on load. Some gamers may find their palms getting sweaty due to the heat.

  1. It so good. I buy ASUS X550ZA because I edit video.
I found the one problem is not bluetooth if you use bluetooth you must purchase the USB dongle and tie up one of your ports.
Overall, I consider it a good value for the processing power, memory and storage it offers. It looks and feels like a Laptop should so I do recommend it.

  2. What I like about this laptop is that it’s got a pretty good size screen. I don’t care as much about the best resolution as I’m just using this laptop to do some writing. It gets the job done.
