Pros and Cons of ASUS ROG GL552VW-DH71 Laptop

The Pros – ASUS ROG GL552VW-DH71

  • The look and feel of the external case is quite good with its metal back.
  • This laptop can handle heavy-weight programs and applications with ease. The Intel Care i7-6700 HQ (2.6 to 3.5 GHz) quad-core processor enables it to do a lot more than just multitasking and web browsing.
  • The machine is equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M gaming graphic card. Gamers will find that it is a lot better than other budget gaming laptops.
  • It comes with a backlit keyboard which is a plus for night users. Additionally, the key travel at 1.8 mm offers responsive key strokes.
  • The display is large (15.6 inches) with an IPS panel and is great for viewing. Also, the matte finish amounts to a less reflective, anti-glare surface.
  • Set at 1920*1080p the screen resolution is brilliant.
  • The quality of the 1.2 MP web-cam is pretty good.
  • This model is fairly compact and isn’t very heavy and weighs only 5.6 pounds.
  • It is an affordable laptop suitable for gaming on a budget.
  • Comes with a DVD burner which is a bonus for those who want to play older games.

The Cons – ASUS ROG GL552VW-DH71

  • The touchpad feels like it hasn’t been given much attention and isn’t made of a great quality. It is prone to occasional stuttering while using gestures for scrolling and zooming.
  • On the keyboard, the keys towards the right side are cramped together. This may be a little uncomfortable to type on for some users.
  • The battery life may be the biggest setback to this laptop. If users are going to play games for two hours straight or more, they will have to keep the charger connected. The battery runs down very quickly.
  • The screen hinges seem to be a little flimsy. Users will have to be careful with how they lift up the screen.
